“I believe in taking the fear and power out of food and making it an enjoyable and memorable part of life.”

I have a passion for helping people build healthier relationships with food and their bodies through compassionate and inclusive nutrition practices. I want to create a safe space for those who are struggling with unhealthy relationships with food & body where they can feel heard, supported, and encouraged without feeling shamed or judged.

I’m here to help you begin a journey of transition from an unhealthy fear of food and its power over you, to one that recognizes food as an enjoyable, fun, and memorable part of life!

Who Is This For?

If you need support with…

  • Eating disorders/ disordered eating
  • Intuitive eating (getting you back to this innate way of eating)
  • Body Image issues/body dysmorphia
  • Anxiety/depression around food (Mental health)
  • Perinatal nutrition (pregnancy/postpartum)
  • General nutrition concerns

Is food CONTROLLING your LIFE?

Are food and body thoughts taking up too much brain space? Are these thoughts causing you to miss out on family gatherings or friend events? Are you confused about all the conflicting nutrition information on social media or even in the doctor’s office? Do you experience shame, guilt, or fear after eating certain foods?

Imagine waking up to the smell of warm blueberry pancakes drizzled in sweet maple syrup with a side of thick-cut bacon cooked by a loved one to surprise you on the weekend. You walk out to the kitchen with a smile on your face and memories of childhood in your mind.

You joyfully take a bite and the blast of flavors coat your tongue. You then realize you’re not too hungry so you enjoy a few bites and decide you can come back to it later if you want.

You were present in the moment, thankful for the kind gesture, and listened to what your body needed.

YOU CAN get to this point and I CAN help you get there!

Registered Dietitian

What makes Emily different?

My passion to help others develop healthier relationships with food and their bodies arose out of my own struggles. When I was in 8th grade, I developed an eating disorder, was hospitalized, and almost died. Through counseling and treatment, I was able to heal my relationship with food, and I realized how strong the connection was between food and mental health. My experience inspired my passion for helping others who were going through the same struggles.

I knew if I wanted to help others, I had to learn as much as I could about nutrition and health, so became my journey to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. I hold a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s degree in Clinical Dietetics, and I have helped over 100 people heal and improve their relationships with food & bodies in a safe, supportive environment. Through my knowledge and personal experiences, I hope to help as many people as possible develop a relationship with food that is healthy, enjoyable, and fun!

If you are struggling with your relationship with food, or just feel that you want to improve your overall health and wellness through a better understanding of your specific nutrition needs, I would love to take that journey with you. When we work together, there is no judgment, no guilt, no shame, just an encouraging, supportive environment that allows you to heal.

Testimonials

Client Successes

“As she helped my daughter, she also helped me understand it wasn’t my fault.”

When my daughter started showing signs of an eating disorder during the pandemic, I knew we needed expert help, and was referred to Emily, the perfect fit, not only for my daughter but for me. I was struggling as a mom, filled with guilt, frustration, and worry; I was looking for the “what did I do wrong,” which wasn’t helping with the situation. Emily was very mindful of my struggle.  As she helped my daughter build a healthier relationship with food, she also helped me understand it wasn’t my fault.   Emily has given my daughter tools that will serve her well for the rest of her life. We are forever grateful.

She has pushed me to find the FUN in food again!

“Emily has been one of my biggest supporters through my journey in eating disorder recovery. She has helped me find food freedom and body image peace, as well as maintain resilience in the face of adversity. Without her guidance and inspiring lessons, I would still be stuck in my orthorexic cycle of “healthy eating” and restricting. She has pushed me to find the FUN in food again!

Client Successes

Emily helped show me that there is so much more to living than to constantly shrink your body.

Working with Emily completely changed my life. I had spent well over 10 years obsessing over food and exercise, trying every toxic, ineffective diet I could think of. Emily helped show me that there is so much more to living than to constantly shrink your body. I now have so much more energy to actually live my life and be present for all the special moments. Emily gave me an unbelievable level of support with tangible strategies to stick to my recovery. I cannot recommend her enough; thank you Emily for giving me my life back!

I have a therapists, do I also need an Dietitian?

Treating a person who has developed an eating disorder can be a complex process that requires the dedicated service of a multidisciplinary team of professionals. Dietitians are among the many experts who can play a vital role in helping people establish a solid foundation for long-term eating disorder recovery.

Restoring nutritional status helps to optimize cognitive and emotional functioning so the patient can participate and benefit from the program of recovery. A healthful diet is also a cornerstone of relapse prevention.
